Festival fun for all

There will be four days of fun-filled action at this year’s Foxtel Footy Festival in Yarra Park.

The Foxtel Footy Festival will bring the best Melbourne and Foxtel have to offer with a variety of activities including AFL player appearances, live music, great Melbourne chefs, kids activities and movie screenings.
The festival will run over four days from Wednesday to Grand Final day outside the MCG at
Yarra Park. The Foxtel Footy Festival is free of charge and will include five precincts – the Toyota AFL Grand Final Live Site, LifeStyle Taste of Football, Kids Zone, Presto Movies at the MCG and the Grand Final eve concert featuring Australian platinum-selling hip hop artist Illy. Fox Footy will broadcast AFL 360, Bounce and the 2016 Toyota AFL Grand Final Parade on Friday, live from Yarra Park. Fans can also enjoy the Telstra Premiership Cup Windows.
The display will feature 112 premiership cups from 1897 until 2015 and visitors can meet past legends and have their photograph taken with a cup. Festival goers will experience food from some of Melbourne’s most iconic restaurants at the LifeStyle Taste of Football complete with pop-up restaurants, food trucks and wine bars, including Scott Pickett’s Mistress Estelle, Shane Delia’s Biggie Smalls and Melbourne favourites Tokyo Tina, Lady Carolina and Burch & Purchese.
Each restaurant will create a signature AFL dish, including Biggie Smalls’ ‘Kbab’, Tokyo Tina’s ‘Breast On Ground’ (a five-spice chicken schnitzel), Lady Carolina’s ‘meat  pie taco’ and Burch & Purchese’s team-coloured dessert tubes and salted caramel footy pops. The LifeStyle Taste of Football will also feature several bars, including the Wolf Blass Nest Bar, Bulmers Cider Garden and the Yak Ales Watering Hole.
The Kids Zone will have exciting and interactive activities that will keep children entertained during the school holidays, including a NAB AFL Auskick skills challenge, the Woolworths AFL Playground, AFL Bounce, the Nickelodeon SLIME LAB, CBeebies Hey Duggee and Go Jetters HQ. There will also be a Ben 10 Drone Zone and the Disney Channels Family Zone, featuring a live show with Disney Channel hosts Adam and Ash.

The Toyota AFL Grand Final Parade, supported by the City of Melbourne, will provide a chance for supporters to see their favourite players who will take to the field on Grand Final day. Starting at the Old Treasury Building at noon and finishing in the Toyota AFL Grand Final Live Site at Yarra Park, fans will see marching bands, roving entertainment and the two competing teams.
But the activities don’t stop on Grand Final day – fans have a chance to cap off a week of celebrations with a kick on the MCG and walk on the hallowed turf at the open day next Sunday from 11am-4pm.

SOMETHING FOR EVERYONE: Whether it’s eating delicious food from iconic restaurants such as Biggie Smalls or having fun in the Woolworths AFL Playground, fans of all ages will enjoy the Foxtel Footy Festival.
