Savour Tasmania

I have been very lucky over the last few years to be involved in so many amazing events and food festivals all over the world and of course some of the best here in Melbourne.

It always humbles me how many people are in love with the food and hospitality that my team and I offer here at Maha.

To be honest, the huge food events are amazing, with lots going on, lots to see and loads of people, but the ones I really love doing are the real foodie events.  The ones where it is not just all about the chef but it’s about the customer and the producer.

I have always been in love with the amazing products that come out of the little island of plenty sitting on the tail end of Australia.  Tassie producers, people and products are in a league of their own.  Passion, pride, skill and hard work all contribute to what makes Tasmania a world leader on many fronts.

I was first introduced to the wonders of Tassie back in 2010 when I met Phill Lamb from Spring Bay.  His passion and dedication for his products truly inspired me and sparked a love for all things Tasmanian.  Fellow Western Bulldog supporters and dedicated foodies, the family down at Cape Grim produce some of Australia’s best beef.  Amazing pastures, conditions and know-how give the team at Cape Grim an un-questionable advantage over all other beef producers in Australia.

So you can image how excited I was when I was approached to be involved in the Savour Tasmania Food Festival for 2013!  My team and I are planing on using some of Tassie’s best products to bring a little bit of the flavours of Maha to cold and windy Tasmania in June.

Tickets for all events are now on sale and are available by calling 1300 795 257 or (03) 6221 1700.

I can’t wait to get there – it’s been way too long since my last visit and I hope to meet some more amazing people, experience some beautiful products and have a ball doing it!

Bring it on!
